ROPA treatment
(partner egg donation)
Shared motherhood – when you both want to be part of the miracle
What is ROPA treatment?
ROPA stands for Reception of Oocytes from the Partner – a fertility treatment for female couples where one donates eggs and the other carries the pregnancy.
At Freya Fertility, we offer a safe and modern course that makes it possible for both of you to become mothers – each in your own way.
ROPA (partner egg donation) is a fertility method where:
- One partner donates her eggs, which are fertilised with donor sperm.
- The other partner has the fertilised egg transferred to her uterus and carries the pregnancy.
In this way, motherhood is shared both biologically and physically – one gives the genetics, and the other gives life.
ROPA treatment is a beautiful and symbolic choice for lesbian couples who want shared ownership of the pregnancy.
Safety, presence, and respect
ROPA is not just a medical treatment – it is an emotional journey.
At Freya Fertility, you meet a team that understands the importance of trust, openness, and shared motherhood.
We follow you closely throughout the process – from the first consultation to the positive test.
How a ROPA course works
1. Joint start and counselling
You meet our fertility specialists, who review your wishes, health, and options.
2. Assessment and hormone stimulation
The partner who will donate eggs goes through a short IVF treatment to mature several eggs.
3. Egg retrieval and fertilisation
The eggs are fertilised with donor sperm in the laboratory.
4. Embryo culture and selection
The best embryos are cultured and selected.
4. Embryo transfer
The fertilised egg is transferred to the partner's uterus, where the pregnancy can develop naturally.
