Preliminary examinations
Get off to a good start – with clarity and overview
Before your first consultation at Freya Fertility, it is a great advantage to have had the relevant examinations done.
Why is it important?
Before the first consultation at Freya Fertility, we recommend that you have results from the relevant fertility tests.
The test results provide greater clarity when planning the right treatment course and help avoid unnecessary waiting time. This often makes it possible to start treatment quickly.
Examinations for the woman
Typically include:
Blood tests on cycle day 2-4: FSH, LH, Oestradiol
AMH (marker of ovarian reserve)
TSH and TPO antibodies, Prolactin, vitamin D, HbA1C
Antibodies against rubella (rubella titre)
Mandatory tests for HIV (anti-HIV 1+2), Hepatitis B (HBsAg + anti-HBc), Hepatitis C (anti-HCV-Ab)
According to the Danish Patient Safety Authority, these tests must be analysed at a laboratory certified under the Tissue Act.
In Region Midt, they are automatically sent to the tissue-approved laboratory in Skejby.
If taken in Region Syd, they must be analysed at the Department of Clinical Immunology at Odense University Hospital.
Swab for chlamydia and gonorrhoea
Cervical smear – screening for cell changes in the cervix
Examinations for the man
Typically include:
A semen analysis – can be done here at the clinic in connection with the first consultation.
